Lean management isn’t a system of improvement built on defined rules, it’s one that is underlined by culture, and championed by leaders like Fitri Afriyanti, of PT GENTS, Indonesia.

Fitri joined GE as an engineer in 2016, going on to become a continuous improvement lead in 2018, with a role focused on assessing and introducing successful improvement processes. In 2020 all that hard work was rewarded with Fitri stepping up to become Site Lean Leader in PT GENTS.

  • GE brings additional repair services to PT GE Nusantara Services by building turbine blade capability within the plant and increasing overall center capacity
  • Transformation of the site took less than one year with stringent COVID safety measures in place
  • The adoption of lean principles allowed GE to reduce gas turbine component repair cycle time by 30 percent
  • Expansion led to an increase of approximately 50 positions and first repaired set of B- and E- components being shipped from the Center in 2020
