Baghdad, Iraq; September 14, 2022: Building on its long-term commitment to support Iraq in further strengthening its power infrastructure, GE Gas Power (NYSE: GE) signed an agreement with Taurus Arm, owner of the 500 megawatts (MW) Bazyan Power Plant, to provide parts, repairs, and services for two 9F.04 gas turbines at the facility for a period of 16 years. The turbines were supplied by GE to Taurus Arm in 2021 under a fast-track project, where they were delivered to the site within months of notice to proceed.

Baghdad, Iraq; 18th April, 2021: The Prime Minister of Iraq, His Excellency Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, inaugurated the Samawa Power Plant in the Al Muthanna governorate. GE Gas Power led the construction of the facility, which is the first new utility scale power plant to be built in the governorate since 1975. Four GE 9E gas turbines have been installed and commissioned at the plant under the first phase of the project, helping the facility to generate up to 500 megawatts (MW) in simple cycle operations.
