Paris, France - September 20, 2023: GE Vernova’s Hydro Power business has completed the upgrade of the first of six Kaplan turbine and generator units at the Qairokkum hydropower plant in Tajikistan.
Following the refurbishment process, the 21 MW unit has been upgraded to a capacity of 29 MW and is now connected to the grid. The output of each of the six refurbished units will increase from 21 MW to 29 MW, bringing the total capacity of the plant to 174 MW.

Brossard, August 31, 2023: GE Vernova’s Hydro Power business announced today that it has been selected by Manitoba Hydro to replace the Unit-4 Kaplan runner at the 479 MW Grand Rapids Generating Station located on Saskatchewan River in Manitoba, Canada.
The scope of work includes the design, fabrication, and delivery of the over 6 meter diameter runner, which will be assembled and tested at GE Vernova's Hydro Power North America shops.

Paris, August 22, 2023: GE Vernova announced today that it has been selected by Yangtze Power to upgrade the Xiangjiaba Hydropower Plant in China. The scope of work includes the design, manufacturing, delivery, installation, and commissioning of three sets of main shaft air supply pipes. The upgrade is expected to reach completion in the first half of 2024.
The replacement of the air supply pipes will help improve the sealing effect, maintaining the efficiency of the hydropower plant.

Paris, June 29, 2023: GE Vernova’s Hydro Power business announced today that it has been selected by Hafslund Eco to deliver new Rotorpoles for the 3x 280 MW / 300 MVA water-cooled generators used by the Aurland 1 hydropower plant in Norway.
The replacement of the Rotorpoles on the three water-cooled generators will help maintain the efficiency of the generators for decades. The services activities will be completed between the summer of 2025 and 2027. The Rotorpoles are to be assembled in GE Vernova’s Norway Services Workshop in Lier.
